Therapy for Individual Adults

All of us have the capacity to change, even when difficult circumstances get in the way. The decision to seek therapy can be challenging. Change can be difficult to think about and tricky to experience. In psychotherapy, you learn methods and strategies to overcome obstacles, access your strengths, and enhance coping.

Through an integrated blend of cognitive and behavioral methods, mindfulness, values alignment, and other theories, we optimize the strengths you already have to cope. I incorporate a blend of curiosity, a little humor at times, and compassion along the way.

A safe, trusting and caring space is necessary for healing. Only then can you safely take risks and explore new possibilities. With every step, I provide structure, guidance, tools, strategies, and resources for you to achieve your goals. Underlying the work is an emphasis on wellness of mind, body, and spirit. All approaches are trauma informed and non-diet oriented.

I am often asked about the weight-inclusive and non-diet approach to emotional well-being, which is linked to physical health. I value body diversity and am committed to helping you work towards your goals at any size. Many people seeking therapy want to lose weight, dislike their body and/or its size. That is completely okay! It’s no wonder many of us feel this way. We live in a culture that teaches us that weight loss is THE one and only path to health and happiness. (It is so not!)

I meet you where you’re at, and we follow a path forward together.
